Not just Arabic with four extra letters
Persian writes kāf and yeh as ک and ی — different characters from the Arabic ك and ي, even where they look alike. A font with only the Arabic forms borrows the Persian ones from another font, mid-word.
Numbers
Persian has its own digits — ۱۲۳۴۵۶۷۸۹۰ — which are separate characters from the Arabic ٤ ٥ ٦. If your text has numbers, type them into the preview to check the font draws them.
Setting Persian text
Persian needs right-to-left layout and letters that join. In Word, add Persian under the language settings. In Photoshop, switch to the Middle Eastern and South Asian text engine under Preferences → Type. Use a zero-width non-joiner where spelling needs a break inside a word, as in میخواهم.
