FontBlast converts plain text into 99 styled variants that can be pasted anywhere plain text is accepted — a profile bio, a username, a chat message, a document title. Alongside them sit 406 decorations and 15 dedicated style pages.
Who we are
FontBlast is a small independent project, not a company with a growth target. It started as a fix for one recurring annoyance — wanting a bio to look a little different and finding only sites that buried three working styles under a wall of ads and a newsletter popup — and it has stayed deliberately narrow ever since.
We build the tool we wanted: fast, free, no account, no upload, no interstitial before you can copy your own text. It runs on ordinary web technology and it will keep working the same way tomorrow.
It is character substitution, not typography
Despite the name, no font is involved. Unicode contains alphabets that already look bold, italic, script or enclosed, because they were encoded for mathematics and for scripts with different typesetting conventions. A style here swaps each of your letters for its counterpart in one of those ranges.
Because the styling lives in the characters themselves rather than in formatting metadata, it survives being copied between apps. That is the whole appeal — and also the source of every limitation below.
How we build it
Every style is checked against the platforms people actually paste into before it ships, because a beautiful alphabet that renders as empty boxes on a phone is worse than no style at all. Where a range is known to be patchy, we would rather leave it out than let you discover the gap in public.
The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, which is a privacy decision first and a performance one second — it also means the tool keeps working on a bad connection.
When not to use it
Screen readers often announce these characters one at a time, or skip them entirely, so styled text is a poor fit for anything that carries essential meaning. Search behaves the same way: a bio written in script characters will not match a search for the plain spelling. Some platforms also reject or strip heavily decorated text, particularly stacked combining marks.
Use it for short, decorative text where the look matters more than the machine-readability — and keep your name, contact details and anything people need to find in ordinary letters. We would rather say this plainly than sell you on a tool that quietly makes your profile harder to find.
Privacy
Every conversion runs in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, logged or stored. Saved styles live in your own browser storage and never leave your device.
