Privacy Policy

The short version

The text you type into the generator, the decorator or any style page never leaves your browser. Every conversion is a character-for-character substitution performed by JavaScript on your own device, so there is no upload to intercept, log or subpoena. We could not read what you converted if we wanted to.

Everything below describes the small amount of data that does reach us: anonymous traffic statistics, and whatever you deliberately type into the contact form.

What we collect

Page analytics. Each page view records the path you visited, the referring URL if your browser sent one, and a coarse device, browser and operating system label derived from your user-agent string, along with a timestamp. We do not store your IP address, and nothing in that record identifies you or links one visit to another.

Contact messages. If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject and message you type are emailed to us so we can reply. Nothing else is attached. While a message is being submitted your IP address is held in memory for a few minutes to rate-limit spam; it is never written to disk or to a database.

That is the complete list. There are no visitor accounts, no profiles, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking of you across other websites.

What stays on your device

Your theme choice and your saved styles are kept in your browser's local storage. They are read only by this site, never transmitted to us, and clearing your browser data removes them permanently. We hold no copy, which also means we cannot restore them for you.

Third parties

Google Analytics measures aggregate traffic — how many people arrive, which pages they read, roughly where in the world they are. It sets its own cookies and is governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one. If you would rather not be counted, any tracker blocker or an opt-out browser extension will exclude you, and the site works exactly the same without it.

Images used in articles are served from Cloudinary, and the site is hosted on infrastructure that keeps short-lived server logs for operational and security purposes. We do not sell, rent or trade data to anyone, for any purpose.

How long we keep things

Analytics records are retained in aggregate for as long as they remain useful for understanding which styles people need, and they are anonymous from the moment they are written. Contact emails stay in our mailbox until the conversation is finished and then are deleted in the ordinary course of clearing it out.

Your choices

Because we do not collect personal data by default, there is usually nothing to request or erase. If you have written to us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will remove it. If you are covered by the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA, the rights those laws give you — access, correction, deletion, objection — apply to the contact messages we hold, and you can exercise them by writing to us.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Since a visitor can use the whole site without giving us anything at all, there is nothing to collect in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect ever changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried — we are not going to start gathering something new and leave it to a diff to explain.
