Dotum, Batang and the rest
Korean type has its own names for the familiar styles: Dotum or Gothic for sans-serif, Batang or Myeongjo for serif. Batang suits long reading; Dotum suits screens and headings.
All 11,172 syllables?
Modern Korean can form 11,172 syllable blocks, but many display fonts draw only the 2,350 of the KS X 1001 standard. That covers everyday text; rarer syllables in names or slang may fall back to another font.
Setting Korean text
Korean fonts are large because every syllable is a separate glyph. On a website, subset the font to the characters you use, and mark the text lang="ko".
