About Do Hyeon
Do Hyeon is a Korean display face from Woowahan Brothers, the company behind the Baemin food-delivery app, whose quirky custom typefaces have become a familiar part of Korean pop design. It is bold and condensed, with simple, straight-cut strokes that recall handmade signage.
Its narrow proportions fit a lot of text into a short line, which makes it handy for thumbnails, banners, menus and social graphics.
Use it for headings and short phrases. For paragraphs, pair it with a calmer text face such as Nanum Gothic.
Licence
Do Hyeon is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits use in personal and commercial work. Read the licence before redistributing the files or selling them on.
Installing it
- Windows.
- Right-click the downloaded file and choose Install, or drop it into Settings → Personalisation → Fonts.
- macOS.
- Double-click the file and press Install Font in Font Book.
- On the web.
- Self-host the WOFF2 and declare it with an
@font-facerule rather than linking to this page. - Korean text.
- Korean fonts are large because every syllable is a separate glyph. On a website, subset the font to the characters you use, and mark the text lang="ko".
