Check the stacks
Telugu writes a consonant cluster by placing the second consonant below the first, as in క్ష or స్త్ర. Type a few into the preview — a careless font collides them or draws them too small to read.
Give it room
Stacked consonants and vowel signs make Telugu taller than Latin text. Give it more line height than you would English, or one line will touch the next.
Setting Telugu text
Telugu needs a text engine that stacks consonant clusters. Word and current browsers handle it. In Photoshop, switch to the Middle Eastern and South Asian text engine under Preferences → Type.
