Instagram Font Generator

Instagram has no font picker, so every styled bio you have seen is Unicode: characters that already carry their own shape, which survive a copy and paste into any field the app offers.

Questions

How do I change the font in my Instagram bio?+

Type your text above, tap a style to copy it, then paste it into Edit Profile. Instagram stores whatever characters you give it, so the style travels with the text rather than depending on a setting.

Why did some characters turn into empty boxes?+

A box means the reader's device has no glyph for that character. Older Android builds and some desktop browsers are missing the rarer ranges. The classic bold, italic and script styles are the safest; heavily decorated ones are the riskiest.

Does styled text hurt my reach?+

It can. Instagram's search indexes the actual characters, so a bio written in script text will not match a search for the plain word. Keep your name and key terms in normal letters and use styled text for decoration.

Is it accessible?+

No, and this is worth knowing. Screen readers announce these characters individually or skip them, so a bio in Unicode script can be unusable for a blind visitor. Use it sparingly rather than for your whole profile.

How many characters fit in an Instagram bio?+

150. Some styled characters count as more than one, so a decorated bio runs out of room sooner than a plain one.
