About Baloo Paaji 2
Baloo Paaji 2 is the Gurmukhi member of Ek Type's Baloo family — a round, bouncy display face available in nine Indian scripts plus Arabic, each with a matching Latin. Paaji, an affectionate word for an elder brother in Punjabi, suits its warm, cheerful character.
The soft, heavy shapes make it a natural fit for children's books, food brands, festival posters and friendly app headings.
It runs from Regular to Extra Bold in one variable file. The lighter weights are calm enough for short paragraphs; the heavier ones are for headlines.
Licence
Baloo Paaji 2 is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits use in personal and commercial work. Read the licence before redistributing the files or selling them on.
Installing it
- Windows.
- Right-click the downloaded file and choose Install, or drop it into Settings → Personalisation → Fonts.
- macOS.
- Double-click the file and press Install Font in Font Book.
- On the web.
- Self-host the WOFF2 and declare it with an
@font-facerule rather than linking to this page. - Punjabi text.
- Gurmukhi needs a text engine that positions vowel signs. Word and current browsers handle it. In Photoshop, switch to the Middle Eastern and South Asian text engine under Preferences → Type.
