About Righteous
Righteous is an art deco display sans — geometric skeleton, generous width, and the flattened curves and high waistline that characterised 1920s and 30s poster lettering. Astigmatic drew it as a single weight intended for display use.
It carries a specific period flavour without being a strict revival, which makes it useful for anything reaching for vintage glamour on a modest budget: cocktail menus, jazz night posters, speakeasy branding, title cards. The forms are clean enough that it still reads as contemporary rather than costume.
Single weight means no hierarchy from the family itself, so pair it with a neutral sans for supporting text. Its width also means long words dominate a line quickly.
