About Mukta Malar
Mukta Malar is the Tamil member of Ek Type's Mukta family, designed by Aadarsh Rajan. Like the rest of Mukta it is humanist and almost monolinear, built so Tamil, Devanagari, Gujarati and Gurmukhi can share one design without any of them looking borrowed.
Seven weights, from Extra Light to Extra Bold, handle everything from interface labels to bold headlines, and the open shapes keep Tamil clear at small sizes.
Use it for Tamil apps and websites, and reach for the matching Mukta families when the same product also speaks Hindi, Gujarati or Punjabi.
Licence
Mukta Malar is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits use in personal and commercial work. Read the licence before redistributing the files or selling them on.
