About Lobster
Lobster is a bold script with connected letterforms, drawn by Pablo Impallari and released in 2010. It became one of the most-used display faces on the web almost immediately, which is both its strength and its problem: it reads as friendly and confident, and it also reads as familiar.
It works hardest at large sizes where the thick-to-thin contrast and the tight ligatures have room to show. Set it as a headline, a logo, or a single word on a poster. It falls apart in body copy, and it is close to unreadable below about 18px.
Pair it with something that stays out of its way — a plain grotesque like Montserrat or Raleway for body text. Two decorative faces on one page fight each other.
