GFS Didot

GFS Didot revives the Greek type that Firmin Didot cut in Paris in 1805 for the publications of Adamantios Korais, the leading scholar of the Greek Enlightenment. The type reached Greece during the Revolution of 1821 and remained the standard for Greek printing until the late twentieth century.

The Greek Font Society's version was designed by Takis Katsoulidis and digitised by George Matthiopoulos, with a matching Latin inspired by the work of Hermann Zapf. Its contrast and elegant, upright forms carry a strong sense of classical Greek publishing.

Use it for books, invitations, academic text and headings in Greek. Its fine details want decent sizes; avoid it for small interface text.
